IC MEMBERS' DAY

Inaugural event hailed a great success...
Event Date: Saturday 2nd May 2015

The inaugural IC Members' Day, held at the National Tennis Center in Roehampton, was hailed a great success by all the participants on the day. Over 50 members took part in proceedings - many of whom brought their families. Children were kept entertained with mini tennis and many non-playing members also made appearances in support of the event throughout the day. Matches started at 11:00 with 4 teams of 8 players competing in a round round style format. In order to ensure there was a continuous flow to the day, the 'social but competitive' matches were timed, enabling most people to play with different partners and against different opponents in each match. Both young and old members took part with Open category players through to over 70s enjoying the day.

The event was brilliantly organised by Katherine Laidler and included a delicious buffet style lunch for players and guests alike, as well as post match drinks and canapes once the tennis came to an end around 4 o'clock. We'd especially like to thank the LTA for allowing us to host the day at the National Tennis Center - there couldn't have been a better venue and we looking forward to welcoming more members to the event again next year.
