The match against the IC of Germany was held at Moor Park over the weekend of the 18th and 19th of July. The majority of the IC of Germany team arrived on Friday evening and were collected at Heathrow and transferred to the Bull Hotel in Gerrards Cross. After a brief stop at the hotel we had a very enjoyable dinner at Luna Rossa Italian Restaurant in Gerrards Cross.

The matches were highly competitive and played on the grass courts in glorious sunshine across two days of competition. GB played extremely well to secure a 10-2 victory, overturning a heavy defeat in Dusseldorf two years ago.

Moor Park’s catering for lunch and dinner in the evening was up to its usual high standard and was much appreciated by both teams and the guests including our Chairman David Waite and wife Gill. At the dinner David was pleasantly surprised and very pleased when Alex Kurucz made him an Honorary Member of the IC of Germany!

Thanks to Alec Allen and Keith Bland for helping with the transfers, their local knowledge assisting greatly in getting to Heathrow on Friday evening! Our thanks also to the IC of Germany team for making the weekend so enjoyable and especially to Wolfgang Popp and Alex Kurucz.
