The IC of GB holds its second Pro-Am tennis event in association with HR Owen

The International Lawn Tennis Club of Great Britain (IC of GB) held a Pro-Am tennis event at Stoke Park on the 19th June 2011.

The event was designed for 8 professionals teaming up with 8 amateurs to play doubles in a round robin format over a period of 2 1/2 hours, followed by drinks, and a BBQ.

The professionals were Michael Stich, Ilie Nastase, Fred Stolle (all Grand Slam singles winners), Henri Leconte, Owen Davidson (a calendar year mixed doubles grand slam winner), Andrew Castle (former British number 1), Ross Hutchins and Mark Petchey. The tennis was played on Stoke Park’s excellent grass courts following the Boodles Challenge.

The amateurs gained a point for each game won during a 20 minute doubles with their designated professional. Boyd Cuthbertson refereed the event which, was won by Andrew Pisker. The runner up was Alessandro Barnaba. Each amateur received a silver salver to commemorate the event and a photograph with the professionals.

The day proved to be highly entertaining with much banter between the amateurs and the professional.

Our thanks go to the professionals and the amateurs for their participation. The IC of GB would like to thank Chester King at Stoke Park for allowing us to host the event at the prestigious club and also HR Owen for their support.

Attached are a number of photographs taken on the day.

Boyd Cuthbertson
Honorary Secretary
