Meet a member: Robin Montgomery, IC of USA (USIC) In 2017, 13-year-old Robin Montgomery was training at the Junior Tennis Champions Center (JTCC) in College Park, Maryland. Selected by the International Club of the USA (USIC), she played in the Rod Laver Junior Challenge (JC) in Japan, facing the world's top 16-and-under players. Highlights of her Japan trip included dressing in kimonos, playing on sand-carpet courts, enjoying traditional breakfasts, and winning the Junior Challenge against the top six IC countries. Robin's talent earned her a wildcard to the US Open in 2020 at 16. By 17, she won both the girls' singles and doubles titles. Now 19 and ranked #133 in singles (formerly #119 in doubles) on the WTA tour, she is striving to break into the top 100. Robin cherishes her Junior Challenge experience, the friendships she made, and the opportunity to represent USIC and travel to Japan. You can follow Robin on Instagram here.
