Result: PUBS win 5-4

The IC team of Ed Corrie, Oscar Podlewski, Rob Blythe, David Culshaw, Zane Cheeseman and Wil Jenkins took on the Independent & Public School Old Boys on the grass at the All England Community Ground Raynes Park on 20 July. 

The sun was out, the courts and facility at Raynes Park were world class and the match was highly competitive in a strong warm up for county week.

With 5 of the 8 matches played going to 3rd set Championship tie breaks it could have gone either way, but sadly the IPUBS outplayed us in the key moments winning 4 of the 3-set matches and triumphing 5-4 overall.

Well done to Ed Corrie and Oscar Podlewski for winning all of their matches and sorry from the rest of us for not backing you up - we’ll get them next time!

A massive thanks to the All England Community Ground for hosting and to the IPUBS for a fantastic match played in a great spirit.
