IC of GB v UKAFLTA

Venue: RAF Halton

Result: IC of GB won 4-0

The match was played at the Halton Tennis Club near Wendover.  This is the base for the RAF Lawn Tennis Association and is one of the top venues in the country.

As in previous years it was a closely contested match with every player playing to a very high level.  It was exciting tennis to watch, very much appreciated by the many spectators.

Following the match we dined at the tennis club and then repaired to the bar in the Officers’ Mess at Halton House.

 My sincere thanks to Lewis Barnes, Felipe Bunster, James Cluskey, and James Marsalek for playing in the match, to Ben Rogers the Captain of the UKAFLTA team and his team for  making us feel so welcome and particularly to Ben  for all the arrangements for the event, for hosting the match and for the very much appreciated engraved glass goblets presented to each player to commemorate the match.

We hope to arrange a three pair match next year, the players this year have already booked their places so I hope that two more IC of GB Members will put their names forward.  The match is scheduled for Saturday 1 June 2024.
