Result: Germany are Champions, GB come 4th

This year in the Mercelis Trophy, Emma Hurst was our Open age group lady, with Kerry Quirk as our O40 representative. The pair teamed up together to play against Germany, USA and Luxembourg.

The German's proved too strong for everyone and won the event without dropping a match. Our GB team finished 4th, but had some closely contested matches and finished on a high beating the Luxembourg pair in the final doubles.

An amazing experience, with a high standard of tennis, and new friendships made both on and off the court.

The Mercelis Trophy is a ladies' competition for teams composed of:

• 1 lady player over 40
• 1 lady player under 40
• 1 playing or non-playing captain

Format:

• 1 singles over 40
• 1 singles under 40
• 1 doubles played by 2 ladies, 1 of which must be over 40
