Fixture: IC of GB vs Yorkshire

Venue: Ilkley Tennis Centre

Match Result: IC of GB won 4-2

 

The annual match was played at Ilkley LTC the home of the Ilkley Challenger tournament,on the newly surfaced indoor courts due to the untimely rain in the afternoon.The hospitality shown by the club was fantastic. Out of the six matches ,2 went to a third set shoot out with the IC winning the match 4-2. The IC team consisted of Neil Howitt ,Andy Hutchinson,Eric Knowles,Steve Walter,Mel Harling and Claire Morrell with Cath Davies playing for the Yorkshire team. The match was played in great spirit and was of the highest standard throughout the afternoon.The day ended with superb food at a local Italian restaurant . The next day the players swapped rackets for golf clubs and were joined by IC member Simon Ickringill for a round of golf at Skipton golf club,a great venue with amazing views of the Yorkshire dales.
