IC of GB v Cambridge Fenners The IC managed to win a tightly fought contest against Cambridge University 6-5 on a sunny day at Fenner’s. The run up to the match was plagued by injury and we were pleased that Jamie Muirhead and Harold Capkevics were able to step in last minute to help the team as guests. That continued throughout the day and both sides were happy to reduce the fixture from 12 matches to 11. As always, the hospitality was strong and there was a high level of tennis played throughout. Finally, a special mention has to go to Mike Appleton who returned to play at Fenner’s for the first time since leaving Cambridge. He unfortunately lost his unbeaten record there but certainly gave the youngsters a run for their money!
