The 2017 Ted Avory Cup was hosted by the IC of GB at the Edgbaston Priory Club, Birmingham. The event started with a welcome BBQ at the Club on Monday evening.

Both teams fielded 25-strong squads, featuring players from the Open category all the way through to the 75s.

Thirty-one matches were scheduled for grass on the first day's play. However, heavy rain meant the fixture was played indoors and the US team took a 17-14 lead. They followed up with an overall 33-22 victory after a total of 55 matches were completed by the end of the second day.

At the gala dinner on Tuesday evening Benson Greatrex was privileged to receive an honorary membership of the IC of USA. The gesture was reciprocated when Bob Litman was also made an honorary member of the IC of GB.
