IC of GB v PUBS

IC of GB v PUBS

3rd August 2019

Match Report

Fixture: IC of GB vs Public School Old Boys LTA

Result: IC of GB Won 6-3

On Saturday 3rd August the IC of GB took on the Public School Old Boys (PSOBLTA) at Stoke Park. It was great to see a mixture of new and established names from both the I/C and PUBs teams faces playing in the fixture. Once again the fixture involved some high quality tennis, with the result going in favour of the I/C by 6 rubbers to 3. A number of matches were especially keenly fought, with the pick of the first round matches being a narrow win for the I/C first pair of Nathan Rooney and Simon Dickson over PUBS second pair James Marsalek and Tom Colautti to edge I/C into a 2-1 lead. The win for the I/C was sealed after another particularly high quality match in which the I/C pair of David Culshaw and Barney Smith edged out Marsalek and Colautti 6-3, 7-6. Despite a number of close results, all matches were played in good spirits and in such fantastic surroundings on the grass courts of Stoke Park.  Our thanks go out to Stoke Park for allowing us to use the venue once again for this fixture, for feeding and watering both teams and of course to all of those who played. Special thanks also go to Andrew Smith for being stand in photographer!
